Spreading Good News (Part 123)

Hello, Blog Readers!

I surf the Web, looking for information that is useful, inspirational, informative, motivational, awe-inspiring, educational—anything that is good “brain food,” and I blog it here for all who are interested.  Occasionally, I blog about something from my own knowledge or experience.

It is my hope that you will enjoy and be able to use most of what is here.

If you’d like, post a comment and let me know what you think.

Many of my experiences and lessons learned have been captured in the books that I have written.  Read the previews and reviews and order at www.GoodShortBooks.com.

The beginning of a new year is typically seen as another chance to “get it right” or “do it better.”

If you do the same things in 2011 as you did in 2010, you are almost guaranteed to get the same results.  Now, if you are happy with what you did and got in 2010, congratulations and more power to you.  Keep up the good work!

On the other hand, if you are not happy with what you did or got in 2010, it would be wise to make some drastic, meaningful changes for 2011.  Change the way you look at, listen to, and think about people and situations.  Don’t wear rose-colored glasses; see the picture for what it truly is.  If it can’t stand the challenge, then, it can’t stand.

If you’re not happy with settling for less, don’t settle for less.  If your standards are not being met, either lower your standards or move to different people/situations where your standards will be met.

Grab a piece of paper and write down what you’re going to change and how you’re going to change it.  Refer to it often and keep track of your progress.

It’s a contest (or battle) between you and you—so, obviously, YOU are going to win!!
