The Candle-Lighter Award and the Sunshine Award
Thank you very much to www.living4bliss.wordpress.com for presenting me with the Candle-Lighter Award and the Sunshine Award. I truly appreciate the recognition!
Both of these awards are for a blog or post that is positive and brings light into the world.
I started this “Good News” blog in July 2010 because I was tired of and disgusted by all the negative news and information. I wanted to give people positive news and information. I’m having a great time looking for, receiving, and posting these pieces! Stay tuned!!
RULES for the Candle-Lighter Award
Whenever you see a blog or post you think brightens the world, give the blogger the Candle-Lighter Award.
Recipients can accept or decline. What does the recipient have to do? Simply accept and nothing more! You can paste this image on your blog, if you wish, and you are done! If you wish to honor someone else with a Candle, pass it on, anytime and as many times and to as many people as you wish.
Come on and help me brighten up all our lives!

The Best Way to Keep a Man is to Let Him Go (among other things)
~ Joyce Fields
The old folks used to say, “You don’t know a person until you live with him or her.” But you don’t have to live with your man in order to observe and learn how he is. It’s a good idea to watch for and listen to the signs and words that tell you what he is passive about, what he likes, what he loves, what he is passionate about, and what he dislikes. If he likes “this,” and you like “that,” make sure he always has what he considers to be an adequate level of “this.” When you hear him tell someone else what he likes or doesn’t like, pay attention. If you already know it, so much the better; if you don’t already know it, take note.
What are his favorite meals? Fix them often, or regularly ask him if he wants you to fix one of his favorites. What are his favorite clothes that you wear? Wear them often. How does he act when he’s pissed off? Can you read the signs accurately? Do you know when to be quiet? (Remember the old saying: It takes two to argue.)
And women should understand that men are “wired” differently than we are. Usually, when a woman looks at a very handsome man, she appreciates his good looks and that’s the end of it. She doesn’t necessarily want to go to bed with him and would probably be insulted if he propositioned her on the spot. Women tend to be more concerned about the “whole package” and would want more information about the guy before bedding him.
Looks to me as though a man’s eyes are directly connected to his sex organ. When a man sees what he considers to be a very beautiful woman, he appreciates her beauty and, more than likely, he immediately “wants a piece of that.” Mentally he’s already undressed her and would be extremely flattered if she propositioned him on the spot. He’d probably be delighted to go with her—the sooner, the better.
So, understand that your man will look at other women and probably get aroused. That’s normal, so he’s normal. The point is that he chooses to be with you. Do things to keep it that way.

Good advice that lots of young women need to hear. Heck some older women could use a refresher also!
LOL!! Glad you agree, Sandy!! My late mother-in-law told me that 50+ years ago–“The Best Way to Keep a Man is to Let Him Go.” I wrote the book in 2008–it stayed with me all this time. Plus, I added “among other things.” It makes an EXCELLENT addition to a baby shower gift–so please keep it in mind and help out a young bride-to-be!!
