My Simple Quotes to Live By – Week of March 30, 2014

“YOUR BRAIN IS CONTAINED IN YOUR SKULL, BUT YOUR MIND IS NOT CONTAINED ANYWHERE. IT’S AS BIG AS THE UNIVERSE. USE IT FOR GOOD.”

My Simple Quotes - GSB - Amazon(excerpted from “My Simple Quotes to Live By” – available at http://www.amazon.com [available on Kindle, too!] and http://www.GoodShortBooks.com)

No one knows where the mind resides. How do you explain thought? How do you explain thinking? We know that every person alive on this Earth has a brain, although, for some of us, that is questionable. My guess is that thinking is bigger than the brain. If more of us put our minds to good use, the world would be a much better place. Instead of thinking about harming, we should be thinking about helping. Instead of thinking about taking, we should be thinking about giving. Instead of thinking about hating, we should be thinking about loving–or, at least, tolerating.

Even for those who are locked up in jails or prisons, their bodies, along with their brains, are incarcerated, but their minds are free. They, too, can be thinking about the good that they can do.

Remember: Everything begins with a thought that comes from someone’s mind!

Say it again!!! Oh my gosh that is one of the most challenging concepts ever, simple but challenging. I had this discussion with my class last week and I never tire of this subject.
